Shoppers
get serious about men’s health’
Stockland Glendale Shoppers were invited to participate in an important
community presentation on Tuesday 6th
September which will undoubtedly save our Fathers, Brothers, Grandfathers
and Mates.
The Hunter Prostate Cancer Alliance (HPCA) is working with Stockland
Glendale to encourage men to get serious about their health this Prostate
Cancer Awareness Month (September).
A qualified counsellor from HPCA who specialises in prostate cancer will
give a 20-30 minute presentation in the conference room on what the community
needs to know about this insidious disease, with plenty of opportunity for
interaction, discussion and questions.
HPCA Executive Marketing Manager, Leigh Maughan is most pleased HPCA
have been given the opportunity to reach the shoppers and retailers of
Stockland Glendale.
“More men are dying in the Hunter from prostate cancer than anywhere
else in NSW. This is why HPCA must reach every single Father, Brother and Mate,
including their family and friends with this important information about
prostate cancer,” said Mr Maughan.
HPCA provides a free information and counselling service for sufferers and survivors of the disease in our area. HPCA is unique in that it is the only organisation that offers a free counselling service, with qualified Counsellors available to men and their families who are affected by prostate cancer.
Each year the Hunter Prostate Cancer Alliance continues to advance its mission of increasing community awareness, promoting early detection and providing support to local men and their families. Through HPCA’s initiatives many lives have been changed for the better.
