Do I have to have one of those "finger tests"?
No. You simply need to have a PSA test, which is a simple blood test arranged for you by your doctor. It can be done in conjunction with other blood tests.
If your PSA level is abnormal or if your doctor wants to check for the presence of another common cancer (rectal cancer) it would then be suggested that you have a digital rectal examination
